Belgium condemns the attack on the Azerbaijani Embassy

Belgium strongly and clearly condemns the massive Russian attacks against Ukraine in recent weeks.

Axar.az reports that Belgian Foreign Minister Maxime Prevost shared X on his social media account.

The Foreign Minister stressed that the strikes were deliberately targeted at the civilian population, residential areas, hospitals, energy infrastructure, and vital facilities. According to him, the attacks caused the death and injury of civilians, including children, and plunged communities into "fear and darkness."

The Minister called these actions war crimes and part of a systematic strategy aimed at undermining the morale of the Ukrainian people. He noted that despite the brutality of the attacks, Ukrainians are demonstrating courage and resilience.

Maxime Prevost also expressed concern about the attack on the Azerbaijani embassy in Kyiv. He stressed that the attack on a diplomatic mission is unacceptable and contrary to the principles of the international system. According to him, Belgium stands with Azerbaijan and the embassy staff.

In conclusion, the minister said that Belgium, together with European and international partners, will continue its support for Ukraine and increase pressure on Russia until the war is over.
