Mine explosion injures man in Gazakh

On November 17, 2025, a man stepped on a mine in the village of Bala Jafarli in the Gazakh district, near the border with Armenia.

Axar.az reports according to the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA), Samir Imamverdiyev, born in 1988, was injured by a landmine while performing his official duties.

His right heel had to be amputated as a result of the explosion.

Imamverdiyev was taken to Gazakh Central Hospital. His condition is reported as stable.
