The last hundred years of history have been more politically turbulent for Azerbaijan. The lands inherited from the republic were taken from Azerbaijan and annexed to Armenia by an insidious plan implemented by the Armenians. In the 90s of the last century, the Armenians took another “revenge” and occupied Karabakh and the surrounding territories. However, in 2020, historical justice was restored by the leader of the Azerbaijani people, Ilham Aliyev. The Karabakh Victory achieved by Ilham Aliyev was written in golden letters in the Turkish history of the last hundred years.

The path leading the country to progress
Ilham Aliyev will not stop counting the work done in the cultural, scientific, healthcare, social, humanitarian, and other fields during the past 22 years of his leadership of Azerbaijan.
President Ilham Aliyev is successfully continuing the democratic, legal, and secular state-building policy of Heydar Aliyev, the brilliant son of the Azerbaijani people. He is successfully implementing Heydar Aliyev's course of preserving and further developing the national-spiritual values of the Azerbaijani people. His decrees "On the publication of the Azerbaijani National Encyclopedia" and "On the implementation of mass publications in the Azerbaijani language with Latin script" (January 12, 2004), his personal assumption of leadership over the publication of the National Encyclopedia and the decrees he signed in this regard, the multiple increase in additional salaries for scientists for academic degrees, and the scholarships for students, masters and postgraduates are bright manifestations of the state's care for national-spiritual and universal values.
Youth policy
On October 19, 2006, Ilham Aliyev signed a decree on the State Program for Azerbaijani youth to study abroad and, by that decree, instructed the relevant executive authorities to prepare a State Program for Azerbaijani youth to study abroad. Accordingly, on April 16, 2007, he approved the State Program for the Education of Azerbaijani Youth Abroad in 2007-2015.
A Concept That Shapes the Future
The Development Concept “Azerbaijan 2020: A Vision for the Future” is considered one of the main strategic initiatives of Ilham Aliyev for the future development of the country. The Concept envisaged measures and activities for the development of various sectors of the economy and the improvement of public welfare by 2020. In the assessment of Azerbaijan’s voluntary report on the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, the Development Concept “Azerbaijan 2020: A Vision for the Future” approved by Ilham Aliyev was described as a strategy that reflects long-term national aspirations, opportunities for investors, and key issues related to these goals. The same approach was prepared for the 2015 World Economic Forum and was also noted in a report published in the Foreign Policy journal. The Business Year magazine, which specializes in the economic field, assessed the concept initiated by Ilham Aliyev as a smart strategy designed to protect the national economic interests of Azerbaijan.
The road to the liberation of Karabakh
In the rapidly changing modern world, in the processes of globalization and integration, in all international meetings and high-level negotiations he conducted, Ilham Aliyev successfully defended the interests of Azerbaijan in all areas. As a result of Ilham Aliyev's successful foreign policy, the former "Nagorno-Karabakh" problem was placed on the agenda of the international community. Successive decisions adopted in international organizations revealed the solution to the Karabakh problem and the desire for the return of internally displaced persons.
Finally, as a result of the decisive and purposeful activities of President Ilham Aliyev, the Victorious Army of Azerbaijan put an end to the 30-year occupation. In September 2020, the myth of the "invincible army" created by the enemy for years failed in front of the whole world within 44 days, and the Armenian army was crushed. Operation "Iron Fist" ended with the Glorious Victory of Azerbaijan. Undoubtedly, the Karabakh Victory is associated with the name of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev. Today, this Victory continues at the diplomatic table. We can say with confidence that the Victory of Azerbaijan will continue under the leadership of the Victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev.
