Baku awaits investigation into AZAL plane crash

Baku is awaiting the completion of the investigation into the crash of an AZAL Embraer 190 aircraft and hopes that compensation payments will be made soon.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by Azerbaijan’s ambassador to Russia, Rahman Mustafayev, in an interview with Lenta.ru.

He also expressed hope that those responsible for the tragedy will be held accountable:

“The statements made and agreements reached on October 9 in Dushanbe represent an important step in this direction. Today, the main issue in relations between Moscow and Baku is the prompt and fair resolution of matters related to the plane crash,” the ambassador said.

It should be noted that the AZAL aircraft, which came under fire from Russia, crashed near Aktau on the morning of December 25, 2024. Of the 67 people on board, 38 were killed.
