Aliyev: Azerbaijan’s army is stronger than ever

Over the past 5 years, the Azerbaijani Armed Forces have significantly increased their strength. Equipped with new weapons and equipment, our Army is capable of performing any task today.

Axar.az reports that President Ilham Aliyev said this in his address on the occasion of the World Azerbaijanis Solidarity Day and the New Year.

"Over the past 5 years, we have been able to significantly strengthen our military power by using both locally produced weapons and equipment, and at the same time adding weapons and equipment purchased from abroad to the potential of our Army. The combat capability of our Armed Forces has increased significantly, the number of Special Forces has increased several times, and the number of newly created Commando Forces consists of thousands of soldiers and officers. We are not preparing for a new war. Wars are behind us. However, in today's world, every country must first of all think seriously about its own security. In today's world, international law norms do not work; the principle of "Whoever is strong is right" has been adopted as the main principle by many countries. A large-scale armament process is underway all over the world. In such a situation, we must be ready at any moment to adequately defend our territorial integrity, sovereignty, and our choice. The professionalism, heroism, and selflessness of our servicemen, and the unity of our people like a fist during the Patriotic War, contributed to our Victory. May God have mercy on all our martyrs! Their dear memory, "He will live forever in our hearts," the head of state said.
