Baku ensures safe return of citizens amid regional conflict

Under the instructions of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, another evacuation of Azerbaijani citizens from Abu Dhabi and Dubai in the United Arab Emirates has been carried out due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

Axar.az informs the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that over the past few days, the Azerbaijani embassy in the UAE and the Consulate General in Dubai compiled a list of citizens wishing to return home.

The evacuees were then transported by special buses arranged by the diplomatic missions to the airport in Muscat, Oman, in coordination with the Azerbaijani embassy there, and flown back to Azerbaijan on a special flight operated by Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL).

The flight carried 195 Azerbaijani citizens, one Turkish citizen, and two foreign nationals holding residence permits in Azerbaijan.

The situation in the region continues to be closely monitored, with the safety of Azerbaijani citizens remaining a top priority.
