4.2 magnitude earthquake hits Caspian Sea

A 4.2-magnitude earthquake struck the Caspian Sea.

Axar.az informs that the Bureau of Earthquake Research of the Republican Seismological Service Center under the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences reported the incident.

The tremors were registered at 6:52 a.m. local time. The earthquake’s epicenter was located at a depth of 36 kilometers.

It should be noted that increased seismic activity has been observed in the Caspian Sea in recent weeks. In April alone, 16 earthquakes have been recorded in the area.
