Eleven Azerbaijani citizens were aboard a civilian cargo vessel that came under a drone attack off the coast of Odesa, Ukraine.

Axar.az reports that according to Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), the "Atlas Bey", a civilian cargo ship operated by the Turkish company "Okean Maritime", was attacked by a drone at around 3:15 p.m. local time on July 14 near the coast of Odesa.

The ministry said 11 Azerbaijani nationals were among the crew. All crew members, except the Azerbaijani captain, have been brought ashore in Odesa and are reported to be in satisfactory condition.

Search efforts are underway to locate the captain.

The Azerbaijani Embassy in Ukraine is in close contact with the relevant authorities and is taking the necessary steps to provide consular assistance to Azerbaijani citizens, the MFA said.
