Lavrov: Russia, Azerbaijan resolved all AZAL crash issues

Russia and Azerbaijan have fully resolved all issues related to the crash of the Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) plane in December 2024, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said during a meeting with his Azerbaijani counterpart Jeyhun Bayramov.

Axar.az reports, citing TASS, "This year, thanks to agreements reached at the highest level and the work carried out by our governments and ministries, we have resolved all issues related to the aftermath of the disaster," Lavrov said.

It should be noted that the Embraer 190 operated by Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) was struck by Russian air defense forces over Grozny on December 25, 2024. Despite sustaining severe damage, the aircraft managed to leave Russian airspace before crashing near Aktau, Kazakhstan. The accident claimed the lives of 38 people.
