Georgia police detain affiliates of Azerbaijani mafia boss

Georgia’s law enforcement authorities have detained six persons affiliated with mafia bosses, Mamuka Chelidze, representative of the Georgian Interior Ministry told a briefing on Monday, APA reports.

Two of the detainees are believed to have ties to Nadir Salifov, aka “Lotu Quli”, an Azerbaijani mafia boss. The two detainees are accused of extorting a large sum of money from citizens.

The detainees may face imprisonment from 7 to 10 years.
