Azerbaijan will start the assembly of GAZ cars.

The source stated that the assembly enterprise will be based in an industrial quarter in the Hajigabul District.

The enterprise will assemble light commercial vehicles, GAZelle NEXT and GAZelle BUSINESS, as well as medium-duty trucks Gazon NEXT.

The enterprise will produce up to 1,000 commercial vehicles annually.

It was also reported that 14 million manats will be invested in the enterprise's construction.

A memorandum on assembling the GAZ vehicles in Azerbaijan was signed by the Gorky Automobile Plant and AzerMash in April 2018 in Baku.

AzEuroCar, a subsidiary of AzerMash, will deal with the distribution and maintenance of GAZ vehicles in Azerbaijan.
