1st hours of voting in presidential election turnout close to 20%

After several hours of voting in Ukraine’s presidential election runoff underway on Sunday the turnout at 11:00 was close to 20% as follows from reports from most constituencies, the Central Election Commission said on its website.

Axar.az reports citing TASS.

"There are a total of 199 constituencies. By 11:00 reports had been received from 171. The turnout at that moment reached 17.89%," the CEC said.

The highest turnout rates were registered in the regions of Zaporozhye (24.25%), Dnepropetrovsk (22.83%) Nikolayev (22.7%), Poltava (22.53%) and Kherson (22.06%), and the lowest, in Transcarpathia (8.01%) and Chernovtsy Region (10.9%). In Kiev the turnout is 16.27%.

There are 29.622 million names on the lists of voters.

In the election runoff they are to make a choice between two candidates - the incumbent Pyotr Poroshenko and candidate from the Servant of the People party, Vladimir Zelensky.
