Qarabag lead Azerbaijan’s summer transfer market

The summer transfer window in Azerbaijani football for the 2026/27 season closed at 11:59 p.m. on September 10.

Axar.az reports that the most expensive sales and transfers involving domestic clubs are as follows:

Camilo Duran – Qarabag to Celtic – €5.5 million

Leandro Andrade – Qarabag to Puskas Akademia – €3 million

Aaron Malouda – Sabah to Basel – €2.7 million

Most expensive transfers

Taofik Ismail – Gornik to Qarabag – €1 million

Reda Khadra – Reims to Qarabag – €1 million

Bence Varkonyi – Zalaegerszeg to Qarabag – €1 million

Cebrail Makreckis – Ferencvaros to Qarabag – €1 million

Freddy Vargas – Maccabi Netanya to Neftchi – €900,000

Alen Skribek – Zalaegerszeg to Neftchi – €900,000

Renaldo Cephas – Paris FC to Qarabag – €880,000

During the summer transfer window, Azerbaijan Premier League clubs parted ways with a total of 160 players. The clubs earned a combined €13.64 million from these transfers.

During the same period, Premier League clubs signed 167 players, spending a total of €11.76 million on these transfers.

It should be noted that the total market value of players currently in the Azerbaijan Premier League exceeds €110 million.
