First Vice President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva has made an Instagram post regarding the death of the Archbishop of the Baku and Azerbaijan Eparchy of the Russian Orthodox Church Alexander Ishein.

Axar.az reports that the post reads:

"Archbishop of Baku and Azerbaijan, His Eminence Alexander was a sincere, kind, spiritually generous person. Endless dedication to his vocation, merits in the development of multicultural traditions, and the expansion of interfaith and inter-civilizational dialogue have earned him great love and respect in Azerbaijan. The bright memory of him will forever remain in the hearts of each of us. On this mournful day, I ask the Almighty to rest his soul and send patients to all his relatives and friends!"
