Aide to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmet Hajiyev addressed a panel organized within the Antalya Diplomatic Forum.
Axar.az reports that the panel on "Fake news in the virtual world" discussed the spread of fake, fabricated information, which is now a global problem, the threats it poses and ways out of the situation.
The panel asked Lulian Jifu, president of the Center for Conflict Prevention and Early Warning, well-known writer, former Portuguese European Minister Bruno Macaes, Qatari Assistant Foreign Minister and Foreign Ministry spokesman Lolvah Rashid Al-Khater.
Speaking at the panel, Aide to the President of Azerbaijan Hikmet Hajiyev said that our country has been subjected to "fake news" attacks by certain circles at various times, and even some foreign media have tried to form a false opinion about Azerbaijan by referring to untrue information. Unfortunately, it was noted that in some cases, even the social media accounts of those who spread true information about Azerbaijan were closed.
The panel was attended by Secretary General of the International Organization of Turkish Culture (TURKSOY) Dusen Kaseinov, former US Ambassador to Azerbaijan, former OSCE Minsk Group co-chair, international expert Matthew Bryza, President of the International Turkic Academy Darkhan Kydyrali, as well as ambassadors, MPs and other dignitaries. .
