Austrian BMI experts were received

On June 22, a group of experts from Austria’s Federal Ministry of the Interior (BMI) were received at Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES).

Azerbaijani Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations, Lieutenant General Etibar Mirzayev informed the experts about the ministry’s efforts in prevention of emergencies in Azerbaijan and elimination of their consequences, reminding them of the visits to Austria of ministerial delegations in various years as well as their participation in the exercises held in Innsbruck, Austria, the ministry informed.


He then emphasized the importance of contributions resulting from mutual visits, noting that the ministry is interested in studying the experience of Austria’s corresponding bodies.

BMI special operation expert, Colonel Hans Ebner said they had an extensive exchange of experience with their Azerbaijani counterparts specializing in protection from fire, search and rescue.

After the meeting, the Austrian experts visited the ministry’s Crisis Management Center, Operational Hall and Multimedia center.

Until June 26, they will visit different structures of the ministry and hold a seminar at the MES Academy.
