The situation in Ukraine, of course, is of great concern.

Axar.az informs that the statement came from Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov in an interview with Italian news agency Agenzia Nova.

"Azerbaijan has good relations with both Russia and Ukraine, and we are talking about comprehensive and high-level cooperation and partnership with the two great countries. Azerbaijan called on the parties to engage in dialogue without delay in order to prevent further escalation of the situation and stressed the need for direct talks between the parties. I would like to note that the President of Azerbaijan had telephone conversations with the presidents of both countries in the first days of the war," Bayramov said.

According to Bayramov, Azerbaijan is always guided by the norms and principles of international law in international relations:

"Azerbaijan, as a country that has suffered from legal injustice for almost 30 years, supports the observance of the norms set by international law. Therefore, it is natural for Azerbaijan to emphasize the importance of resolving these issues through peace and negotiations within the territorial integrity of Ukraine.

I would like to note that Azerbaijan was among the first countries to provide humanitarian assistance to Ukraine. To date, we have provided 15 million euros in humanitarian aid to Kiev.
