As a result of the Patriotic War and the anti-terrorist operation, today we have full possession of our water sources.

Axar.az reports that President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said these words in his speech at the groundbreaking ceremony of the Shirvan irrigation canal, which will be rebuilt in Hajigabul district on April 16.

Recalling that Armenia once occupied not only our lands but also our resources, our head of state said:

"Water resources available in Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur constitute 25 per cent of our total water resources. The main feature of these water resources, the positive aspect, is that they are water resources formed at the expense of internal sources. The President noted that the water resources of Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur are internal sources, so this is of special importance.
