The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement on the tripartite meeting between Azerbaijan, Turkiye and Pakistan.

Axar.az reports that the statement states:

"On July 3, 2024, His Excellency the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, His Excellency the President of Turkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan and His Excellency the Prime Minister of Pakistan Shahbaz Sharif met in Astana within the framework of the 24th meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

Relations between Azerbaijan, Turkiye and Pakistan, as well as regional and global issues such as Gaza, Cyprus, Kashmir, Islamophobia were discussed at the tripartite summit meeting.

It is planned to organize the meetings held earlier at the level of parliament speakers and foreign ministers within the framework of the Azerbaijan-Turkiye-Pakistan trilateral cooperation process, as well as at the level of heads of state. Also, a common intention to develop cooperation opportunities between the three countries was confirmed.

It was agreed that the strengthening of trilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan-Turkiye-Pakistan will serve the development of the peoples of the three countries, as well as the strengthening of regional and global peace and stability.

The three countries expressed their support for prioritizing dialogue between the respective countries in resolving conflicts in accordance with the principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The importance of cooperation between the three countries in the fight against transnational threats, especially terrorism, and the joint solution of this issue was confirmed once again.

Within the framework of the tripartite cooperation process, the next meetings will be held in all three countries, that is, Azerbaijan, Turkiye and Pakistan."
