Producer Jon Landau, who won Oscar and Golden Globe awards for his work on Titanic, has died at the age of 64.

Axar.az reports that according to the publication, the cause of his death was cancer.

Landau was born in New York City in 1960 and studied at the University of Southern California's School of Cinematic Arts. He made history thanks to his collaboration with director James Cameron in the 1997 film "Titanic" - the film was the first film to earn 1 billion dollars at the global box office. After that, Landau directed "Avatar" in 2009 and "Avatar: Waterway" in 2022.
