An important personnel change has taken place in the Azerbaijan Army.

Axar.az reports that Major General Vilayat Barkhuda oglu Guliyev has been appointed commander of the 2nd Army Corps.

It should be noted that at first this position was performed by Lieutenant General Mais Barkhudarov. He is now in custody.

It should be recalled that during the 44-day Karabakh war, the military unit led by Vilayat Guliyev freed many settlements in the direction of Fuzuli, Jabrayil and Hadrut from occupation.

By the Decree of President Ilham Aliyev dated June 25, 2024, Vilayat Barkhudarov oglu Guliyev was awarded the rank of major general.
