The Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, received Major General Akhmad Burkhanov, Commander of the Air Defense and Air Force of the Republic of Uzbekistan, who is on a business trip to our country.

Welcoming the guest, the Minister of Defense said that he was happy to see him in Azerbaijan and noted that the bilateral military cooperation between our countries is based on friendship and brotherly relations.

According to the instructions of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, Colonel-General Z. Hasanov emphasized that the cooperation between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan in the military field is further developed, and spoke about the work done in this direction.

Expressing his satisfaction with his visit to our country, Major General A. Burkhanov expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome, Colonel General Z. Hasanova conveyed the greetings of the Minister of Defense of Uzbekistan.

Then an official welcoming ceremony was held at the Central Command Post of the Air Force. Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan - Commander of the Air Force Lieutenant General Namig Islamzade and his Uzbek colleague passed the guard of honor.

In the meeting between the commanders, the importance of developing the exchange of experience and mutual visits between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan in the field of military aviation and air defense, as in other directions, was emphasized.

At the meeting, detailed views were exchanged on new perspectives of military cooperation between our countries, as well as on a number of other issues of interest.

In the end, the Uzbek delegation was given detailed information about the work done at the Central Command Post of the Air Force.
