Russia sends protest note to Armenia

Russia has sent a diplomatic note of protest to Armenia over the desecration of a memorial dedicated to Heroes of the Great Patriotic War in Gyumri, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said at a briefing.

Axar.az reports that Zakharova described the act as “sacrilegious,” saying it was not just hooliganism but a deliberate attack on the shared historical memory of the two countries and an attempt to insult the memory of the Great Victory.

She confirmed that Moscow had formally submitted a protest note to the Armenian side.
