Belarus summons Ukrainian envoy

The acting chargé d’affaires of Ukraine in Belarus, Ivan Novitsky, was summoned to the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on June 18.

Axar.az reports, citing Belta, that Belarusian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ruslan Varanok said the Ukrainian diplomat was handed a note of protest over an Ukrainian drone attack on June 17 in Russia’s Bryansk region.

According to the statement, a civilian bus carrying Belarusian citizens, mostly children, was targeted. Belarus said one citizen was killed and six others, including five children, were injured.

The Belarusian Foreign Ministry described the incident as a “monstrous crime” and a “terrorist act,” stating that it strongly condemns what it called an inhumane attack with no justification.
