Kallas reaffirms two-state solution in response to Israel FM

EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas has reiterated the importance of continued dialogue with Israel following recent tensions with Israeli officials.

Axar.az reports that Kallas made the statement on her X account in response to remarks by Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar.

“Dear Gideon, as you know, the EU and Israel have a lot that binds us. I value our dialogue and engagement, and I’m open to continue in that spirit, respectfully and constructively,” she wrote.

She stressed that dialogue remains the foundation of diplomacy, especially during disagreements, and reaffirmed the EU’s commitment to constructive relations with Israel.

Kallas also said the two-state solution remains the only viable path to peace in the Middle East.

She added that the EU has condemned illegal Israeli settlements in the West Bank.

"The EU has condemned the illegal Israeli settlements in the West Bank that make it increasingly difficult to get to that goal. That is the EU position," she noted.

It should be noted that Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar has announced that he is severing all contact with Kaja Kallas.
