Russia’s "Azimut" airline has canceled flights from Mineralnye Vody and Sochi to Azerbaijan.

Axar.az reports that this information was confirmed by the airline’s press service.

It is specified that flights from Mineralnye Vody to Baku and Ganja, as well as from Sochi to Baku, have been cancelled due to the revocation of slots by the Baku and Ganja airports in connection with the revocation of flight permission by the aviation authorities of Azerbaijan.

It should be noted that on December 25, an AZAL plane operating a Baku-Grozny flight was severely damaged after being hit by Russian air defense systems over Grozny airspace. Denied permission to land, the plane diverted to Aktau but crashed near Aktau airport. Of the 67 people on board, 38 were killed, and 29 survived.

Russia has yet to apologize to Azerbaijan or hold accountable those responsible for denying landing permission.

Previously, AZAL suspended flights to Grozny, Makhachkala, Mineralnye Vody, Sochi, Volgograd, Ufa, Samara, Saratov, Nizhny Novgorod, and Vladikavkaz, citing potential risks.
