Mirzoyan: Closer to peace than ever

We have never been so close to each other.

Axar.az reports that these thoughts were voiced by Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan in an interview with the Turkish NTV channel.

Answering the question about whether the current time is suitable for the signing of a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan and the normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations, Mirzoyan said:

“If you don’t mind, I will try to answer this question a little differently. I cannot say that now is the right time for this. Perhaps there will never be an ideal time, but I can say with certainty, and I think my Turkish and Azerbaijani colleagues will also confirm this: we have never been so close to each other. If we assess the current situation, we can say that we have never been as close to peace and stability as we are now.”
