If a peace agreement is signed between Azerbaijan and Armenia and the Zangezur corridor is opened, the opportunities of the Turkic world from China to London related to the Middle Corridor will develop extremely.

Axar.az reports that Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Birol Akgun said this in an interview with the Anadolu Agency.

He stated that official Ankara supports the process.

The diplomat said that relations between Azerbaijan and Turkiye should develop further: "Today, our trade volume is six and a half billion dollars. The target is 15 billion dollars. This is not a dream. If integration accelerates, we can reach this goal in the next 3-5 years."

B. Akgun emphasized that the relations between Turkiye and Azerbaijan, formed with the concept of "one nation, two states," led to concrete results in critical periods. "Azerbaijan's determination and Turkiye's strong moral and political support played an important role in the Victory won in the Second Karabakh War."

Recalling that Azerbaijan is implementing projects aimed at the reconstruction and revitalization of Karabakh and its surroundings, the ambassador said that Turkish companies are also providing great support to these efforts:

“The people of both countries are aware of the level of relations and appreciate it. From a political point of view, the strong leadership and brotherhood shown by our President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev have left their mark on every level of relations. This was evident in the earthquake in Turkiye, as well as in the Second Karabakh War. During the earthquake, Azerbaijan was the country that was most concerned and provided the most assistance. We must deepen our relations economically and culturally, understand each other better, and strengthen the prospects for cooperation.”
