China has become the 4th largest trading partner of Azerbaijan, its share in our foreign trade turnover is 7.9 percent, and it has also become the leader in imports, and this indicator has reached 17.69 percent.

Axar.az reports that President Ilham Aliyev said this in an interview with the Chinese "Xinhua" agency.

Stressing that there is still great unrealized potential between the two countries, the head of state emphasized:

"I believe that the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic and Trade Cooperation between the two countries is an important mechanism for expanding bilateral economic relations, identifying promising areas of cooperation, and further strengthening them on a legal level. The timely implementation of the Commission's decisions will be the key to the success of our efforts."
