US President Donald Trump's desire to meet Chinese leader Xi Jinping in person is hampering efforts to end the trade war.

Axar.az reports citing foreign media.

"The Chinese bureaucracy will never allow its leader to be put in a difficult position," the source said.

It was noted that Beijing wants to hold informal talks that provide flexibility and greater maneuverability during the negotiations.
