"We spoke out for peace, development, equal rights, justice, democracy, and freedom, as well as for the promotion of common values ​​of humanity against hegemony and power politics. Our side expressed its determination to jointly support the international system under the auspices of the UN, its role in international affairs, a position of genuine multilateralism, as well as a world order based on international law, goals, and principles based on the UN Charter.

I have already said that as part of the Global South, we have always defended our interests. Azerbaijan chaired the Non-Aligned Movement, the second largest international organization after the UN, in 2019-2023. This organization accounts for 80 percent of the planet's population, about 50 percent of world GDP, and about half of the total international trade volume. The participation of the Global South in building a more sustainable, just, and secure world order is a natural process," Ilham Aliyev emphasized.
