Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu's long-term visit to Azerbaijan is a significant diplomatic breakthrough for Baku.
Axar.az reports that Armenian political scientist Hrant Mikaelyan said this in an interview with local media, commenting on the upcoming visit of Netanyahu (May 7-11) and Turkish leader Erdogan (May 10) to Baku.
"We must not forget that about a month ago, US special envoy Steve Witkoff visited Azerbaijan, and in his interview, he spoke about the three conflicts he was involved in, including the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict. On the other hand, recently, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, who is originally from Azerbaijan, was also in Baku, and he said that he felt at home in Baku," he emphasized.
According to Mikaelyan, Azerbaijan is building relations with the new US administration, and Israel is helping in this matter:
“At the same time, Azerbaijan wants to improve relations between Turkiye and Israel, and a meeting between Ankara and Tel Aviv was recently held in Baku. Therefore, the visit of Erdogan and Netanyahu to Azerbaijan should be viewed in this context. Netanyahu, in turn, wants to improve relations with Ankara.”
Reminding that the Azerbaijani leader will also attend the parade in Moscow on May 9, the Armenian political scientist admitted that Azerbaijan is solving its diplomatic problems very successfully, has achievements, and is moving forward, and is taking on a certain international mission.
