Police officer killed in car crash

A police officer was killed in a car crash early Saturday morning in Azerbaijan’s Goychay district.

Asiman Mustafayev, 27, an officer of the Goychay district police department, died after his car overturned on the Baku-Shamakhi-Yevlakh highway.


Presumably, Mustafayev went off the road so as not to crash into a herd of cows crossing the road. As a result, the police officer lost control of his car on the rain-soaked road and overturned the car. He died on the spot.


An investigation is underway on the accident.
