Shamil Basayev and two members of Khattab's group were detained in Stavropol and Tomsk.

According to information, in March 2000, near the village of Ulus-Kert in Chechnya, Russian citizens who participated in the operation in which 99 Russian soldiers, including 84 Pskov paratroopers, were killed, Begeldiyev T.Kh. and Elmanbetov A.S. they were arrested.

The detained persons are charged with the articles of the Russian Criminal Code of armed rebellion, participation in organized groups and assassination of servicemen.
