USSR former mercenaries are fighting against Russia -

Mercenaries participating in the Ukraine conflict are mostly financed by Western private military companies.

Axar.az reports that this was said by the representative of Russian separatists in Ukraine, Sergey Lebedev.

"Currently, there are mainly mercenaries from former Soviet republics and Warsaw Pact countries in Ukraine. Most go to Ukraine to gain experience. Those fighting against the Russians are highly valued by Western private military companies. Those who go to Ukraine under contract are rapidly advancing in the ranks," said Lebedev.
