The United States is not seeking a quick solution to the situation in Ukraine and welcomes negotiations.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by the deputy press secretary of the US Department of State, Mignon Houston.

"This administration is not seeking a quick solution. This administration wants to achieve long-term, sustainable peace in the region," she said.

Houston noted that there is also a need to strive for a comprehensive, unconditional ceasefire. She emphasized that to achieve this goal, it is necessary to continue direct negotiations similar to those held in Istanbul.
