The European Cup among young judokas has started in Skopje, the capital of North Macedonia.

Axar.az reports that according to the information provided by the Azerbaijan Judo Federation, 4 of our judokas took the podium on the first day of the competition. Nihad Mamishov (60 kilograms) and Abil Yusubov (73 kilograms) won gold medals, defeating all their rivals. Farid Garayev (60 kilograms) won silver, and Mahammad Musayev (66 kilograms) won bronze.

With 2 gold, 1 silver, and 1 bronze medals to its credit so far, Azerbaijan is ranked 2nd in the overall team standings.

It should be noted that the tournament, in which 226 athletes from 26 countries participated, will conclude today.
