A senior media official of the U.S. State Department on Israel and Palestine issues, Iranian-born Shahid Qureshi, has been dismissed.

Axar.az reports that right-wing activist and unofficial adviser to U.S. President Donald Trump, Laura Loomer, shared the information on her X page.

“Qureshi is a pro-Iran and jihadist Muslim linked to the ‘National Iranian American Council,’” she wrote.

According to reports, Qureshi had proposed that the department issue a condolence message for journalists killed in Gaza and release an official statement condemning the forced displacement of Palestinians. These suggestions were met with opposition by State Department officials.
