The UN General Assembly has adopted a resolution on the participation of the State of Palestine in the 80th session.
Axar.az reports that 145 countries voted in favor of the resolution, 5 countries against, and 6 countries abstained.
According to the resolution, Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas will address world leaders through a pre-recorded statement during the high-level general debate to be held next week.
This step was taken after the US decision to ban Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas and senior officials of the Palestinian Authority from traveling to New York for the UN annual meeting and to cancel existing visas.
It should be noted that several countries, such as Great Britain, France, Australia, and Canada, have announced plans to officially recognize the State of Palestine during the upcoming sessions of the UN General Assembly.
