Zelensky and Trump discuss peace efforts

A telephone conversation took place between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his American counterpart, Donald Trump.

Axar.az reports that V. Zelensky shared this on his social media account.

He called the telephone conversation with Trump positive and productive:

"I congratulated the US leader on his achievements, as well as on the agreement he reached in the Middle East. This is an important achievement. If it is possible to stop the war in one region, then it is possible to stop other conflicts, including the war started by Russia.

I informed Trump about Russia's attacks on Ukraine's energy system and thanked him for his willingness to support us.

We discussed the possibilities of strengthening our air defense system and specific agreements in this direction. There are good options and real ideas to further strengthen Ukraine.

Strong pressure will be needed to make Russia truly ready for peace talks.

Thank you, Mr. President."
