Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi skipped the ASEAN summit in Malaysia to avoid meeting Donald Trump.

“Administration officials fear that Trump will repeat his claim to mediate a ceasefire between India and Pakistan after a four-day armed conflict in May. India has consistently denied Trump’s participation.

The prime minister’s team does not expect anything from a possible bilateral meeting with Trump in Malaysia, the sources said. One of them noted that a phone call between the two leaders last week did not meet New Delhi’s expectations,” the report said.
