Iran slams US nuclear test plans as grave threat to peace

In a post on his X account on Thursday night, Aragchi decried the US president’s decision to start testing American nuclear weapons.

Axar.az reports, citing Tasnim, “Having rebranded its ‘Department of Defense’ as the ‘Department of War’, a nuclear-armed bully is resuming testing of atomic weapons. The same bully has been demonizing Iran's peaceful nuclear program and threatening further strikes on our safeguarded nuclear facilities, all in blatant violation of international law,” Araqchi said.

“Make no mistake: The US is the World's Most Dangerous Proliferation Risk,” the Iranian foreign minister stated.

“The announcement of a resumption of nuclear tests is a regressive and irresponsible move and a serious threat to international peace and security. The world must unite to hold the US accountable for normalizing the proliferation of such heinous weapons,” he added.

His comments came after US President Donald Trump announced that the US will resume nuclear weapons testing, citing the need to match testing programs by other countries.
