Georgia moves to restrict voting abroad

The Georgian Parliament has begun work on a new Electoral Code that would ban citizens living abroad from voting in elections outside the country.

Axar.az informs the announcement was made at a briefing by Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili.

According to Papuashvili, Georgians residing abroad will only be able to take part in elections if they travel back to the country and vote at their registered address.
