Czech president: Ukraine war resembles WWII beginnings

The conflict in Ukraine resembles the beginning of the Second World War.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by Czech President Petr Pavel.

He compared Russia’s attempts to seize Ukrainian territories to Hitler’s actions against neighboring countries, including Czechoslovakia, before World War II:

“Putin’s argument that he is acting in the interests of the Russian-speaking population in eastern Ukraine is particularly alarming for those familiar with Czech history. In Czechoslovakia (Sudetenland), the German minority was used as a pretext. Vladimir Putin is using the same rhetoric,” he said.
