Lebanon announces ban on Hezbollah’s military activities

Lebanon’s government has said Hezbollah’s military activities are “illegal acts” and demanded the group hand over its weapons.

Axar.az reports, citing Al Jazeera, Prime Minister Nawaf Salam declared its absolute rejection of any military actions launched from Lebanese territory outside the framework of legitimate institutions.

“We prohibit Hezbollah’s military activities and confine its role to the political sphere, and we demand that the military institutions implement this,” Salam said.
