Ukraine’s Umerov held secret talks with FBI chiefs

Ukraine’s Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, Rustem Umerov, met with the leadership of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) during his visit to the United States.

Axar.az reports, citing The Washington Post.

It was stated that while in the US to hold talks on a peace plan, Umerov held secret meetings with FBI Director Kash Patel and his deputy, Dan Bongino. According to claims, these meetings have raised concern among Western officials.

The newspaper writes that Umerov and other Ukrainian representatives may have approached Patel and Bongino in the hope of obtaining “amnesty” over potential corruption allegations.

However, there are concerns that Washington could use this situation to pressure the Kyiv administration into accepting a US peace plan that includes significant concessions for Ukraine.
