Trump suggests $1bn compensation over Mar-a-Lago FBI search

US President Donald Trump has not ruled out the possibility that the US government could pay him $1 billion in compensation over the FBI search of his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida.

Axar.az reports that Trump said this during a speech in Rocky Mount, North Carolina.

According to him, the situation is unprecedented in US history.

“You know, I’ve filed a lawsuit, and I’m winning the case. But there’s one problem—I have to settle this lawsuit myself. I mean, I file the lawsuit, and then I also resolve it myself. Maybe I’ll give myself $1 billion and donate it all to charity. That makes sense, doesn’t it?” Trump said.

He added that he sued the US government, later became president, and now must once again decide the fate of that lawsuit himself.

“Isn’t this a strange situation? I have to negotiate with myself,” the US president said.
