Turkiye condemns Israel’s recognition of Somaliland

Israel's official recognition of Somaliland means interference in Somalia's internal affairs.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by the spokesperson of the Turkish Foreign Ministry, Oncu Kecheli.

"Israel's announcement that it recognizes the independence of Somaliland is a new example of the illegal actions of the Netanyahu government. This step by Israel, which continues its expansionist policy and makes every effort to prevent the recognition of the State of Palestine, is a clear interference in Somalia's internal affairs," Kecheli said in his statement.

"Turkiye, which attaches great importance to peace and security in the Horn of Africa and resolutely supports the territorial integrity of Somalia, will continue to support the Somali people," he stressed.

It should be noted that Israel was the first country to recognize Somaliland as an independent and sovereign country.
