Thailand and Cambodia have signed a joint document to restore a ceasefire along their shared border after 20 days of intense fighting.
Axar.az reports that this was announced by the state broadcaster Thai PBS.
It was noted that Thailand’s Defense Minister Natthaphon Nakphanit and Cambodia’s Defense Minister Tea Seiha signed the joint document on restoring the ceasefire starting from December 27.
The initial ceasefire is expected to last 72 hours.
Any subsequent agreement to extend the ceasefire will be subject to approval by Thailand’s National Security Council.
It should be recalled that clashes between the two countries resumed on December 8. On December 24, the sides began talks on restoring the ceasefire.
