Turkiye continues to cooperate closely with the Syrian government in accordance with the principle of "One State, One Army" and is closely monitoring the process of integration of the SDF, an offshoot of the PKK, into the Syrian army.

"As we have emphasized before, this position of the SDF harms the territorial integrity and stability of Syria. If the Syrian government decides to take an initiative for its unity and integrity, Turkiye will support it," the statement said.
